Justin Bieber has been confirmed as a co-headliner for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show, joining Madonna, Shakira, and BTS on stage at New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, 19 July.
The 11-minute performance marks the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA World Cup final and will air during the championship match. Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS 22 Chorus featuring Coldplay will also perform. The event is tied to a fundraising push for children’s education worldwide.
Bieber Adds to Star-Studded Final Halftime Lineup
Bieber’s addition brings together some of the biggest names in music for a single World Cup final performance. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the artist joins Madonna, Shakira and BTS in supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative meant to widen access to education and football programs for children globally.
Burna Boy, whose collaboration with Shakira on “Dai Dai” has performed well internationally, will also take the stage, alongside Dudamel, who directs the New York Philharmonic, and the Webby Award-winning PS 22 Chorus with Coldplay.
Characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets will also appear during the show, tying the performance directly to its education-focused goal. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who is curating the event, described it in a promotional video as centered on togetherness and inclusion.
Show to Fund FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund
The Final Halftime Show is directly linked to fundraising for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million for education and football access programs for children. Organizers have already raised more than USD 50 million. Part of that total comes from ticket sales, with USD 1 from every FIFA World Cup 2026 match ticket going toward the fund.
In May, FIFA and Global Citizen announced the first set of organizations receiving grants from the fund, covering education and football programs across ten countries. According to FIFA, the fund is designed to support community-led programs that combine schooling, sport and local involvement, with the goal of improving educational outcomes and creating opportunities in underserved areas.
Bieber said he was glad to take part in a show that is already helping expand education access for children. Burna Boy said the performance carries added weight as a chance to represent Africa on the World Cup’s biggest global stage.
Production Team and Advisory Board Details
The halftime show is being produced by Global Citizen alongside Live Nation and Done + Dusted. FIFA has also named a non-fiduciary advisory board for the Global Citizen Education Fund, which includes Infantino, Global Citizen co-founder Hugh Evans, Shakira, actor Hugh Jackman, businesswoman Ivanka Trump, singer The Weeknd, tennis player Serena Williams, former footballer Kaká, and Bank of America co-president Jim DeMare.
Separately, FIFA’s Unite for Education campaign is running throughout the tournament. Players will wear a sleeve patch during the Round of 16, quarterfinal, and semifinal matches to draw attention to education initiatives, including the Global Citizen Education Fund and the FIFA Football for Schools Programme. More details on the fund and its grant recipients are available through FIFA and Global Citizen’s official channels.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 final and its accompanying halftime show will take place on 19 July at New York New Jersey Stadium, closing out the tournament hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
